Anne Edenton Hall, 87, of Fredericksburg, VA passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mrs. Hall graduated from Spotsylvania High School in 1948. After starting her family, she later went to work for Grand Union Grocery Store in Fredericksburg where she was employed for over 25 years until her retirement. After retirement, she spent time in her yard planting shrubs and flowers, hand quilting in the winter months, and making quilts for her family. Mrs. Hall loved to stay busy and that included having grandchildren at her home where she lovingly cared for them.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Anne had a big heart and was very compassionate and would help others whenever she could. She will be missed by many.

Mrs. Hall is survived by her children, Deborah H. Courtney of Fredericksburg, E. Greg Hall (Susie) of Glen Allen, Cynthia H. Farnum of Fredericksburg, and Melinda H. Castle of Spotsylvania. She is survived by eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; brother Campbell Edenton (Rosamond) of Spotsylvania; and a sister, Shelby Edenton Hill of Spotsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ernest Earl Hall; her parents, Lee W. and Elmira Slachter Edenton; and her siblings, Hiram Edenton, Lee W. Edenton, Jr., Rosalie Dunivan, Hazel (Becky) Martin, William Edenton, and Raymond Edenton.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 1 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 2 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 5601 Courthouse Rd, Spotsylvania Courthouse, VA 22551.
