Lena Hobbs

Lena G. Hobbs, 85, of Blackstone, died Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Henrico Doctor's Hospital in Richmond.

Mrs. Hobbs was the widow of Alfred L. Hobbs. She was a member of Poplar Lawn Baptist Church, Blackstone, where she was a former member of the choir. Mrs. Hobbs was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Over the years she \"mothered\" many extended family members. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and working puzzles.

Survivors include her daughter, Edith M. Eppes of Fredericksburg; her son, Kelvin Hobbs of Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Vicki Ward of Fredericksburg, Kelvin \"Chip\" Hobbs Jr. of Oklahoma, Khourie Jones of Texas and Keila Jennings of Fredericksburg; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ethel Bowman of Williamsburg and Beatrice Smith of Maryland.

A service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, June 18 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel.

Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 19 at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Farmville, Virginia.
