Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Tom was a great friend and I enjoyed playing bridge with him during all the years we've been at Virginia Heritage.

Please know that our family is one with you in this time of sorrow.
Even though we did not know Col. Berta that well, we always thought he was a very kindhearted loving person, especially with his family.
We will forever keep him in our hearts.

To Tom's wife and family our sincere condolences. Tom epitomized the "An Officer and a gentleman". Tom was our eldest billiards member at the VH clubhouse, the fellows dubbed him "the butcher" because he could slice a shot so thin, it was a sight to see. He was my partner for life on the table. He called me Thursday to keep us abreast of his status. We will miss our elder but take great pride in knowing your husband. Peace be still, God bless the family in their time of sorrow.

To Tom's family. We only knew Tom briefly through Bridge at Virginia Heritage, but it was a true pleasure to be in his company. He will be dearly missed.
