William R. “Bill” Miller, 88, died Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Stafford Hospital surrounded by family.
Bill was born October 27, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York to William and Margaret Miller. He was predeceased by his wife, Sakuji “Suzy” Miller in 2004.
Bill retired from the U. S. Army as a staff sergeant having served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. After retirement he worked as a diesel engine mechanic. He was an avid reader of military history. Prior to moving to Virginia to live with his daughter in 2014, Bill lived in San Antonio, Texas for 24 years.
Survivors include his three children, William Miller Jr. and wife Linda of Kansas, Robert Miller of California and Suzan Reed and husband Michael of Virginia; and five grandchildren, Matthew Reed, Lucas, Reed, Lyndon Miller, William Gentry and Feather Gentry.
Bill’s family would like to thank the clinicians from Mary Washington Home Health: Laura Emerson, Dena Meuller, Megan Hubbard and Karen Fernan, who worked with him in November and December and Rosalinda Palmer from Virginia Home Care Partners, who got him going in the mornings for the past two months.
A service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

I had such a wonderful time working with Mr. Miller. He had a great sense of humor and kept me laughing. Sending up many prayers for peace and comfort for his family and friends. ❤
