Patricia Bingham Gibson went home to be with her Savior Tuesday, February 6, 2018. She was devoted to her faith and family and her trust in God was an encouragement to others as she faced the challenges of a difficult illness.
Patricia was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on April 18, 1944.
While raising her son and two daughters, she went back to college and completed a degree in psychology from George Mason University. She continued her education and earned a Masters in social work from Catholic University. Pat became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and devoted much of her life to Christian ministry. Her work led to a varied career serving in adoption, hospice and both group home and private counseling. Pat influenced many lives both professionally and personally. Her legacy of compassion and care will be remembered in the lives that she touched.
One of Patricia’s greatest loves was spending time with her family. Being involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren brought her great joy. She also found comfort at the beach. Whether she was gathering shells and sea glass, seeing a sunrise or sunset or spending time on the sand with family and a good book, Pat was at home in the ocean air. She had a great love for music and over the years, Pat and Jack participated in countless choirs, chorales and music societies. She truly found the love of her life in Jack and with Christ at the center of their marriage, the Gibsons lived a romance that was a sweet love story for all to see.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 55 years, Frank “Jack” Gibson; daughter Wendy and husband David Major, son John and wife Jeannine Gibson and daughter Meg and husband Dan Wright; her grandchildren, Victoria Wright, Shayla Gibson, Emmy Wright, Jack Gibson, Joy Gibson, Gracie Major, Peter Major, and Ruthie Wright; brother Robert and wife Christine Bingham, brother Michael Bingham, and sister Kay and husband Jeff Sofet. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Bingham; mother Nancy Bingham; and brother Peter Bingham.
Patricia will be remembered on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. at Covenant Funeral Service in Stafford, Virginia. Interment will be held at 2 p.m. at Quantico National Cemetery. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers and donations, the family will gladly accept prayers, condolences and memories.

Celebrating the life of Patricia Bingham Gibson
Thank you for signing Patricia Bingham Gibson's Guestbook
One memory stands out among the many! I remember Pat's excitement when she told me of the surprise trip she planned for the two of you, Jack, to Paradise Island, I think, for a long weekend. She was "like a kid at Christmas", thrilled to be able to do something for you.

I’m so sorry for your recent loss. My deepest condolences to your family. Death of a loved one is always hard to endure, but you don’t have to go through it alone. You can always find comfort in our God of tender mercy Jehovah, as found at 2 Corinthians 1:3,4.

Dear Jack, Meg, Wendy, and John,
My deepest sympathy over the death of your dear wife and mother. Some of my happiest days were spent in Pat's company as we taught Kindergarten Sunday School together at Vienna Pres. Pat was a blessing to all she came to know.
What a comfort to know the she is safe in the arms of Jesus.

Pat was a lovely lady inside and out, and leaves many fond memories of her calm and joy-filled life of faith. Praying for Jack and the whole family, trusting that God will provide comfort and hope in this difficult time.
