Colonel Francis P. "Frank" Wiegand



Colonel Francis P. “Frank” Wiegand U.S. Army, Retired, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 27 at his Fredericksburg home.

Frank is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean Wiegand; and five children, Francis Wiegand, Judy Witthohn, Kathy Clarke, Patricia Fisher and Chrissy Price; 11 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Frank’s engineering degree from RPI, Corps of Engineers/Reserve service in the Korean War and work experience in the DC, Federal government and private sector trained him to assess situations, analyze facts, and make smart decisions quickly. Raised as an only child in Mount Kisco, NY, Frank took great pride in his large family. As a hardworking father, he encouraged education and a strong work ethic, rewarded with beach vacations.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 12 at Covenant Funeral Service , Fredericksburg.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Tuesday, March 13 at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Quantico National Cemetery.
