Dolores Watkins Zborill

Dolores “Dee” Watkins Zborill, 82, of Stafford passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at her apartment at Harmony at Falls Run.

Dolores was born in Richmond, VA, on December 25, 1941. A loving wife and a mother of three, she was a dedicated teacher. A 1964 graduate of Longwood College, Dolores began her teaching career at Manchester High School in Chesterfield County. Later, she taught for Stafford County Public Schools at A.G. Wright Middle and North Stafford High schools. She retired from teaching in 2001.

Most importantly, Dolores was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a member of Mount Ararat Baptist Church since 1978. Dolores was a lifelong learner and avid reader, but was happiest when spending time with her family, traveling, or doting on her grandchildren. 

Survivors include her children, Walter F. Zborill III, Laura Z. Connor (Chris), and Lisa W. Zborill; grandchildren Lelia C. Connor, Abigail C. Price (Dylan), and Jackson V. Connor; great-grandson Grant O. Price; brothers William S. Watkins, Jr. (Kelly) and Terry G. Watkins (Kathy); and beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Walter F. Zborill, Jr.; and parents William S. Watkins, Sr. and Dorothy N. Watkins.

A service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in The Mount Church Cemetery (1112 Garrisonville Rd., Stafford, VA 22556).
