Douglas M. Chewning



Douglas M. Chewning, 84, of Fredericksburg passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mr. Chewning was a U.S.. Army veteran having served during the Korean War. He had worked as an auto mechanic most of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Chewning; sons Richard Campbell (Thelma) and Robert Chewning (Wanda); daughter Pam McIntosh (Kevin); grandchildren Richie, Johnathan, Cody, Toby, Ephiny and Tyler; brother Alvin Chewning; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 10 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 11 at the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
