Diane Shandor, 76, of Spotsylvania passed away peacefully in her husband’s arms on Monday, June 4, 2018.
Diane is survived by her husband of 58 years, Larry; son Larry Jr., and his fiancée, Sandra Seidel; daughter Laura Ann Brewer and her husband Howard: grandchildren, Alex and Allison who were her everything.
Born July 22, 1941 in Johnstown, Pa. to the late John and Margaret Cherensky of Twin Rocks, Pa. Diane graduated from Blacklick Township High School in 1959 in Pennsylvania. After Larry’s discharge from the United States Marine Corps they remained in Northern Virginia and resided in Woodbridge for 38 years. After retiring from Paxton Van Lines Relocation Company she and Larry relocated to Spotsylvania County. Virginia Heritage in Spotsylvania quickly became her home.
Diane was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church where she was a very active member of the Ladies Guild. She devoted countless hours to fundraising for the St. Jude building fund for a new church. Sadly, she will not be here to celebrate with her guild members as the new church opens for worship in July. She looked forward to her monthly lunches with her friends who called themselves the “West Kessler’s Lunch Bunch” as well her Bunco games, and going to bingo with Larry.
Diane was a loving wife and mother who always put her family first. She will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity. Diane had such a giving heart who was always there for others in time of need.

To my dearest sister-in-law: You may have gone from our lives, but not from our hearts. We now have another beautiful angel in heaven. Even though our family chain is slowly being broken, but as God calls us back home one by one, our family chain will link again. To my dear brother Larry and also to Larry Jr. and Sandy, Laura and Howard, Alex and Allison our prayers and thoughts are with you and remember, when you see that big bright shinning star up in the heavens at night, throw the biggest kiss you can because we all know who that shinning star belongs to. And knowing Diane, I am sure one of God's plans for Diane is to start getting her plans in place for our four legged friend(s) who also left us, to be a great "mommy" to them as she was to her wonderful family here on earth!!!
Goodbye to my dear not only sister-in-law but to the sister I never had and who "loved" to have the have those old fashion Hungarian bacon roasts!!!
Love ya, Rosemary

Larry, Laura and Larry, Jr. -- Ron and I are so shocked and saddened by Diane's sudden passing. We certainly enjoyed knowing her and working with her for many years at Paxton Van Lines. Diane was a very warm, giving person, and she was always so pleasant to work with. It was very clear that her family was the center of her life, and she loved talking about her children and grandchildren. We will miss her very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.
