Charles Edward Kendall Jr., 77, of Fredericksburg passed away Monday, November 18, 2013 at his residence.

Mr. Kendall was a native of Fredericksburg and was a graduate of James Monroe High School. He had retired from the District of Columbia Department of Corrections and was a member of the Historic Fredericksburg Antique Auto Club.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara McPhatter Kendall of Fredericksburg; four children Edward P. Kendall of Fredericksburg, Lynette K. Farmer of Fredericksburg, Gary F. Kendall and wife Sarah of Christiansburg and Charles M. “Chuck” Kendall of Fredericksburg; a daughter of the heart, Susan K. Siltz and husband Joe of Disputanta; eight grandchildren Sean L. Farmer and wife Niki of Fredericksburg, Ross E. Farmer and wife Amie of Fredericksburg, Edward P. Kendall Jr. and wife Kate of Richmond, K. Grace Kendall of Asheville, N.C., Adam C. Kendall of Richmond, D. Drew Kendall of Richmond, Benjamin C. Kendall of Richmond and Katherine E. (Beth) Kendall of Richmond; two great grandchildren Lilah and Samantha Farmer; brother B. Stuart Kendall and wife Anita of Fredericksburg; and his beloved dog, Frazier.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward Kendall and Beulah Perry Kendall.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 20 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 21 at the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, South Atlantic Division Inc. 4240 Park Place Ct. Glen Allen, VA 23060-9904 or to Stafford SPCA, 140 Andrew Chapel Rd, Stafford, VA 22554.
