Sally Ann Sarber, 86, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017 at her home in Fredericksburg. Mrs. Sarber was a graduate of Immaculata College, was a retired teacher, and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was the widow of BG William R. Sarber, Jr.
Survivors include her daughters, Cathy Vazquez (Alex),Lisa Sarber and MaryBeth Gilman (Tommy); son Mark Sarber (Sue); nine grandchildren Ryan (Dana), Lauren, Alexa, Carter (Julia), Tyler (Jessica), Kyle, Michael, Emily and Riley; three great-grandchildren Samuel, Margaret and Gabriella; and brother James Land. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jane McClellan; and brothers Jack Land and Joseph Land.
Sally was a dedicated spouse of a military officer and enjoyed living in dozens of locations in the United States, Europe and Korea raising her family. She relished the summer family vacations in the Outer Banks of NC. The last years of her life were spent at The Crossings where she enjoyed time with many friends, activities including board games, jewelry making, fashion shows, conducting the choir, bridge, and social happy hour. She enjoyed playing the violin, dancing, and all things related to music.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 21 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg beginning with a rosary at 6 p.m. followed by a visitation until 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 22 at St. Mary Catholic Church,1009 Stafford Avenue, Fredericksburg. Burial will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
Memorials in her memory may be made to Parkinson Foundation.

Lisa and family, we are so sorry to read that your mother passed. We didn’t know her, but her picture reflects a friendly smile, and I know she raised an amazing daughter! Our prayers will be raised to our Heavenly Father for your family.
