Michael Stephan Dickinson, 47, of Fredericksburg passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Mike grew up in Northern Virginia. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and felt strongly about his Catholic faith. Mike had a wonderfully sarcastic sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and a giant smile. He was a daredevil by nature and enjoyed things that scared most other people. Mike was very intuitive and a great listener. He dealt with his health issues with humor and showed strength that most found amazing. He loved his family, his dogs, history, movies, and a good steak.
Survivors include the light of his life, his daughter Abby; his wife Shauna; his parents Bruce and Ginger; his brother Charlie, wife Angela, and their daughter, Everly; his Aunt Loretta and Uncle Harvey; his cousin Mary; and two godsons, Isaiah and Dalton.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm. Thursday, March 1st at Covenant Funeral Service in Fredericksburg. A rosary service will be held at 6 p.m. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 2nd at St. Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Mike to either the Michael Dickinson Scholarship Fund, Holy Cross Academy, 250 Stafford Lakes Parkway, Fredericksburg, Va. 22406 or the Epilepsy Foundation, 8301 Professional Place East, Suite 200, Landover, MD 20785.

Celebrating the life of Michael Stephan Dickinson
Thank you for signing Michael Stephan Dickinson's Guestbook
My sincere condolences to the family in this most difficult time. I just wanted to share some comforting scriptures that I pray bring you comfort. The Holy Bible reveals that God purposes to remove all the distressing conditions that cause sorrow and pain, including death. He promises: "Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things will passed away"-Revelation 21:3, 4. Very soon all our tears of sorrow will be turned into tears of joy, for this is God's promise to us.

Shauna and Abby, Wishing you hope and comfort. We are thinking of you often during this time. I once heard it said that grief is another name for love. You both are such wonderful examples of the great love you have for each other and for Mike. Peace, Steve and Terri McAuliff, Annie and Joe McCormack
