Stacey Garland Pillow, 48, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Stacey was born July 5, 1969. She was a 1987 graduate of Washington and Lee High School in Westmoreland County, Virginia. Stacey was an active member of Chancellor Baptist Church.
Stacey was employed at Total Comfort Heating, Air and Plumbing, stuffing envelopes, applying postage, and shredding documents. She was previously employed at IHOP and at the Northern Neck Workshop.
Stacey consistently rose above externally placed limitations. She generally did as she pleased at her own pace, disregarding restrictions assumed to exist by others based upon perception of her condition as a handicap.
Stacey never knew a stranger. She lived life to her fullest satisfaction through simple pleasures, primarily as she pleased when she wanted. She was fond of chatting with friends and family directly, on the phone (especially 7pm conversations with her Aunt Frances), or through Facebook. She enjoyed shopping, eating and spending time with family and friends. Stacey had an ability to reach people in a deep, positive, and loving way.
Stacey is survived by her mother, Mary (Trudie) Cruey; her step-father, Billy Cruey; her brother, Keith Pillow; her step-sisters Judy Knight and Michelle Scott; two nieces; one nephew; aunts, uncles and many cousins; and scores of friends.
Stacey’s beloved pet of 14 years, her dog Lannie, was obtained through the SPCA. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Stacey’s name may be made to the Fredericksburg S.P.C.A, 10819 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. For information, (540) 898-1500 ext. 16.

Sta-Gar, sure miss you girl. This took us all by surprise, but you had that way about you! Know you were beyond welcomed by all the family and friends anxiously waiting for you. And now you are in perfect health, able to look up at the sky above you, and tackle steps all by yourself. You can dance the night away and eat all the greens you could want!! Love you bunches Stacey G. We’ll be there soon. 💜

I am so sorry for your loss . I hope you find comfort in the scripture at Acts 24 : 15 . This is what our God promises for all . And we can look forward to what is written in Psalms 37 : 1-40 .
